There was another guy who beat Oscar too. His name is Manny Pacquiao and he's second to Floyd at the box office.
It was Oscar De La Hoya's name that catapulted Pacquiao into the boxing pantheon of mega millions, and Bob Arum who transformed Pacquiao into a globally recognized brand.
However, unlike Mayweather and Oscar, Pacquiao chooses to not throw Bob Arum under the bus.Comment

It came from Bob Arum himself:
Google 'Mayweather, Arum exchange legal punches' to find article (my post count is too low)Mayweather filed a lawsuit against Arum on March 7 in Clark County (Nev.) District Court, claiming he is owed money from his two pay-per-view fights with his former promoter, against Arturo Gatti in 2005 and Zab Judah in 2006.
The lawsuit does not specify an amount Mayweather thinks he is owed because he claims Arum has denied him accounting.
Arum counters that his company, Top Rank Inc., does owe Mayweather money, but that the Grand Rapids boxing champion owes the company even more, so payment was withheld. He said he plans to countersue Mayweather and other unspecified individuals involved with the boxer.
"I don't really want to say anything further," Arum said Wednesday. "These are major lawsuits, and there are going to be major law firms handling them."
**SNIP**
Mayweather claims he was supposed to receive 85 percent of Top Rank's net revenues from the Gatti fight (which was co-promoted by Main Events), and 80 percent of its net from the Judah fight (co-promoted by Don King), on top of base purses of $3.1 million and $5 million, respectively.

In a strange twist, Arum admits that he owes Mayweather money and said he has told Mayweather's reps why he isn't giving it to him.
"There's no question we owe him some money," Arum said. "There's no dispute there. But he owes us a lot of money, and the people he's involved with owe us even more. After 98% of the money we owed him was paid, we stopped paying him for a reason.
"We're owed ... in the millions. We welcome this lawsuit. We wanted it to be filed. We have counterclaims and cross claims against certain other individuals involved with Mayweather. This is just the opening salvo in a major battle."Comment

Nah, after Arum steps aside there will be another excuse. Floyd is a lunatic lives in his own crazy world. He will not fight Pac unless he really needs to like he's down to a few millions left in the bank.Comment

With all the purely ******ed posters in this thread, no wonder the truth or facts get buried. Some of you dudes need a girl or a life .... pick one!!!
For the OP: Google Mayweather's lawsuit against Top Rank and Arum for your answers.Comment

"I don't do business with arum". It is single handidly. The BIGGEST excuse I've ever heardI'm trying to understand why Floyd hates Arum so much he would make him his excuse this time and I found this article below. What if Arum called a bluff and said he would step aside, but have internal arrangements that he will still get the money as if he were the promoter. It could make sense since everyone already have their share of the pie and it would not change how much money will be distributed to all parties.
Boxing hall of fame voters should remember what is happening today and not insult the boxing fans when it is time to vote.
