Arum was trying to pressure him to fight ggg and he was going to pay him 7 million for it and then pay him 10 million his next fight if he won 5 million if he lost. Chavez Sr was promoted by bob arum too so arum used Chavez Sr to convince his son to take the fight which he tried to. Chavez Jr. Is just another bish who wants easy fights so of course he went to the dumping grounds of fighters who want easy fights al haymon. Can you blame arum for wanting to give the fans good fights? Chavez Jr was scared plain and simple, hope he gets knocked out for 2 million, he'd be wishing he took the 12-17 million guaranteed minimum for 2 fights that bob offered

This is a very good point... Arum literally put grueling time, and effort into making Chavez, all in hopes he could become good enough, just good enough, so with marketing ploys, promoitional advantages, etc., he could make some real money in big fights.
After 5 years of Arum carefully matching him, and guiding him, gradually taking him up one level at a time... Arum gets him to where he's getting 5 million guarantees, basically more than anybody n boxing not named Pacquiao, Mayweather, or Klitschko (sometimes). And on par with Cotto, and Canelo.Comment

Haymon don't know how to guide, and build guys from the ground up.
Haymon was granted one of the most naturally gifted athletes, with some of the best raw technical ability, and skill, in Gary Russell Jr. he had him from day one, and only fed him bums, so when the time came to step up, he never had that transition level, where you fight tough journeyman, and solid C-B level boxers...
He just jumped right from D- cans, to a fight with an A+ world class talent in Lomachenko - and you see the result.Comment
