Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Vows To Battle Arum Over Fonfara Bout

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has no intention of backing away from a scheduled return on April 18th against Polish light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara. The fight was announced earlier this week by the Mexican star.

Following his announcement, promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank told BoxingScene.com that he would do everything legally possible to prevent the fight.

Top Rank and Chavez are currently in a legal dispute over his contract. Chavez, who is now advised by manager Al Haymon, believes he is currently a free agent and Top Rank believe he still owes them one more fight.

I hope Julio's team of lawyers don't prepare for a fight like him.

It really wouldn't surprise me if this bum drops a decision to Fonfara.

                  War chavez

Don't see how anyone could defend Arum, and I hope Chavez Jr. is focused and trains hard, well conditioned, and ready for 12 rounds. Its true he hasn't shown much so far in his career, but I believe he has "Great Potential", time can be a maturing process and Chavez Jr. is still young enough and healthy enough to reach his potential.

If Arum had REALLY wanted to have gotten this contract finished and allowed Chavez Jr. to move on then it would have been, but in this world Politics get involved, greed etc, and in the "Heart of Hearts" of us the fans who follow this sport know, THATS WHATS REALLY THE PROBLEM.

But we can't do ANYTHING about it so a large majority of us fans have turned our attention to the Athelete or Combatant, the 1 who actually does the training, gets in the ring, deals with business and politics of the System, which we ALLL KNOW is designed to keep us ALL in our place, in our bias and prej·u·dices against one another, I'd even compare it to a modern day "Lynching" in the way some fans attack these athletes with such "hate and disdain" smh.

Why are some fans so interested in magnifying another persons faults in there comments , there Sins when WE KNOW we have them too. hypocrisy?

I hope Chavez Jr is able to get things sorted out with Top Rank and both parties can move on. that would be right·eous.
