don't know why some are surprised that he's at 172,he probably weighs over 180 when not fighting,a lot of fighters do this(go down that much)...juanma when he was at 122,cotto when he was at 140,all fighters go through this, mostly all do,check the 30 day weigh in and you will see how much they weigh, its not that they should start moving up in weight,i bet the supermiddleweights do the same thing by moving down that muchComment

Who knows maybe he ate more between fights this time. GGG was 165 30-days for Rubio:

And this is pretty much the norm. Guys are going to be typically 10 pounds or so above a month out. Just a few examples:
Cloud & Stevenson 186 & 188 30-days
MONTREAL -- World Boxing Council (WBC), The Ring Magazine and linear world light heavyweight champion, Adonis "Superman" Stevenson (21-1-0, 18 KOs), as well as his opponent for his first title defense on September 28, former International Boxing Federation (IBF) light heavyweight champion, Tavoris "Thunder" Cloud (24-1-0, 19 KOs), recently submitted to the WBC regulatory weigh in. At his training camp in Traverse City, Michigan, Stevenson tipped the scales at 186 pounds, while Cloud weighed in at 188 pounds at his Florida training camp. Both fighters were below the 193-pound mark permitted by sanctioning body rules.
Maidana 158 30-days
The World Boxing Council reports that both of the combatants for September 13th rematch on Showtime Pay-Per-View, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana, had no problems at their 30-day weigh-in. Mayweather, who walks around near his fighting weight, was 150-pounds - 3 pounds away from the welterweight limit of 147. And Maidana certainly walks around as the bigger man, coming at 158-pounds - 11 pounds away from the division limit.

Exactly. Never understood why people don't grasp this. Guys at 168 are going to be 178+ 30-days out, guys at 175 will be 185+, etc etc etc. There are really only a few exceptions - Floyd, Rigo, Pacquiao and a couple others. Basically guys fighting above their "natural weight class" or guys that stay in great shape 24/7, 365.don't know why some are surprised that he's at 172,he probably weighs over 180 when not fighting,a lot of fighters do this(go down that much)...juanma when he was at 122,cotto when he was at 140,all fighters go through this, mostly all do,check the 30 day weigh in and you will see how much they weigh, its not that they should start moving up in weight,i bet the supermiddleweights do the same thing by moving down that muchComment

Stop making sense Natas. Anything Ward fans can do to keep him from Kovalev at 175Who knows maybe he ate more between fights this time. GGG was 165 30-days for Rubio:

As I would expect.
Less than a stone to lose and a full month to do it, he will make the weight easily as he always does.
The only surprise for me is Murray being at 169.Comment
