Bish please... if this was a perfect universe, Matthysse would beat up Algieri if he stays in front of him.... but that isn't happening.
He'll run, jab Matthysse up, then set up again. then run run run.
Algieri by split decision.
Algieri is one of those guys u gotta get out early, or he's gonna make the next 11 rounds HELL for you. He doesn't need to box to win, just use his feet and long jab and pot shot all night long. When Matthysse exchanges, clinch and run.
rinse repeat.
Algieri can possibly be an ATG runner as in "I POTSHOT YOU AND YOU CHASE AND MISS FOR 3 MINUTES". The man is a genius at that.
Lucas may of been overrated or overhyped before but damn is that guy criminally underrated these days.
One close loss and fans instantly turn on the fighter. No wonder these undefeated cats won't risk losing when fans are that fickle.

I mean are people seriously picking Algieri?
He might be let out of his cage this time......
its worked opposite for algieri though. Unheard of before a one dimensional provo, completely slaughtered by manny and now people think he can beat all these other guys....WTF???
He lost that fight fair and square. It's wasn't a robbery
it was a robbery, stop trolling. alexander won 3 rounds at least. got KD in the 4 and the 7 could've been a 10-8 round, i would tell you to watch it again, but you are a troll, so....

im a troll but lederman had it a one round fight for lucas, fight was close not a robbery.. I even explained my scorecard. Not my fault lucas isnt a god
Matthysse beat both Judah and Alexander, but his volume also dropped off significantly in those fights.
In those fights he needed the judges to see the difference between flicked air jabs that didn't even land and the consistent work he was putting in throughout the rounds.
They didn't. They assumed that the better known guy who was back-pedalling and throwing air jabs was controlling the fight. That's the risk Matthysse would run against Algieri. He'd have to put big shots on him or potentially face a similar shafting. Of course he's a bigger name now, which doesn't hurt.
I think he would land those shots against Algieri too. I think Algieri would take more chances than Zab and Devon, and he would get caught more as a result.
