Linares is from Venezuela but he has resided in Japan for long time. This post shows that Cuban fans are very limited in knowledge of pro boxing. Except one or two Cuban guys who didn't continue with their love for amateurism, the rest seems to be just following their compatriots who fled from the Island (and maybe Floyd or another slick fighter) and that is why they can't be appreciative of offensive type of fighters and keep thinking that the their Olympics success is synonym of professional supremacy.

I love this dude; he will fight anybody and he'll do it in whatever weight class he has to...and you already know that he's going to outbox Linares early, get bored doing so and decide to go to war with all guns blazing.
I still don't like him fighting at 135 as he gives guys he would definitely beat a chance to win due to the sheer size advantage they have. It is what it is though, he has supreme confidence and the stones to challenge himself against the best in higher divisions.
