Comments Thread For: Rakhim Chahkhiev Faces Lukasz Janik on 3/21 or 3/28

EBU cruiserweight champion Rakhim Chahkhiev (19-1) will make a voluntary defense against Pole Lukasz Janik (29-2) on March 21 or March 28 in Moscow. Janik was previously the mandatory challenger for the EU title but will now lose that position.

Chahkhiev lost to then WBC champion Krzystof Wlodarczyk in 2013 but still looks like a future world champ while Janik lost a close call to Ola Afolabi late the same year in a fight for the vacant IBO crown at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Chakhkiev should pursue the IBF belt,Ryabinsky was saying Lebedev,Drozd and Rakhim wouldn't be facing each other until they were all in receipt of belts,or the WBO,I don't see Marco Dück sticking around the division to get his ass handed to him by the Machine though.

Good fight for Rakhim to kick the year off with. Janik is a pretty good fighter.
In truth his career should of been paved against the opposition hes now fighting before he met Diablo.

          This.

He was rushed along too quickly, although I was certain he was ready, the loss will not define his career though.

I really hope he targets one of the other major belts, a unification against Drozd or Leb would be epic.
