He was going to lose that fight anyway. I mean, Canelo was in there showboating against Trout at various times. And Trout needed to really step on the gas in the later rounds to take advantage of Canelo's fatigue. But he didn't. I agree that the open scoring and judges were kinda rigged for Canelo. And I disagree with your reasoning for why Trout got knocked down.

I definitely thought it was a much closer fight. But take away open scoring and it forces both of them to fight different. Trout got knocked down because he got decked. Period. Just move on.

Because there is absolutely no comparison. Guerrero, Berto, Ortiz, Maidana have all fought at WW and continue to fight at WW. Rios and Algieri had never fought at WW before Pacquaio, and they no longer fight at WW. Even Malignaggi was more proven and experienced at WW than Rios and Algieri. And Malignaggi continues to fight at WW. On paper he looks great compared to them.

So again there is no comparison and only fools try to hopelessly try to compare.

algieri has fought as high as light middleweight a couple of times, fought at 147 a good number of times aswell
