AN EXTENSIVE LIST OF FIGHTERS MAYWEATHER DUCKED
99 ducked Joel Casamayor and shane mosley (fought chavez)
02 grew balls and fought Castillo
02 (time frame) ducked Margarito (fought ZAB JUDAH? Who just lost)
04 ducked Kostya Tszyu and winky wright to fight Demarcus Corley, Henry Bruseles and Arturo Gatti
08 ducked Paul Williams and Margarito to fight cotto
09 ducked Mosley and fought Marquez who had to go up 10 lbs to fight. Floyd still came in overweight
finally ..... Manny Pacquiao, with blood test demands, character assassinations implicating the Philippine icon of using steroids,
I forgot, Floyd also avoided Acelino Freitas, Paul Spadafora, Leonard Dorin and Sergio martinez.
Not all champion he fought are considered ELITE. Most of the ELITE fighter he fought is out of their prime.Comment

LOL^^Steroids didn't knock out Pacquiao--Marquez did. I'm sorry to break it to you.
Also, Marquez chased Mayweather for 12 rounds. So, I can see his issue. But, at the same Marquez has always been objective regarding the Manny and May issue. He's been consistent: Manny will lose because Mayweather will run and out box him, yet Manny is the more tenacious and entertaining fighter. Only Mayweather fanboys who act like they have a deeper understanding of the sport claim that May is more entertaining.
And once again Manny has failed as many steroid tests as Jmm.
Memo is an expert drug chemist who can create PEDs and bypass them in drug test for his athletes.
Mayweather was a better counterpuncher to Marquez, thats why he won.
I'll ask you this
Why do we need drug testing in boxing if steroid is fair?
What are the advantages of using Steroids?Last edited by gamesworn; 01-19-2015, 10:57 AM.Comment

Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.
The greatest of all time is someone that stands out among all the rest. It's not an impossible thing to attain.
Manny Pacquiao for example has 7 Titles in 7 divisions(I don't count his 154 title as legitimate). He is the greatest weight jumper of all time.Comment

???. what are you talking about? duncan isnt even retired yet and he is already considered the greatest power forward to ever play the game, by most basketball analysts.I think you misunderstood the poster's meaning. Hall of Fame & ATG are completely different things. Besides, Boxing, basketball & all other sports are entertainment business. Duncan can bring Spurs to the finals due to his fundamentals & a sure Hall of Famer but he will not remebered an ATG player (like, Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kobe & Lebron) due to his lack of character & inability to create dramas & most importantly, entertainment....Comment

I don't think Mayweather is the greatest, but regardless of what I think and whom Mayweather faces in the ring, enough media support for Floyd can vault him to the status of "the greatest." If you don't believe me, just take a very close look at Muhammad Ali's career. Once you do you will question just how Ali became "the greatest" just as I have long done. The answer is that Ali has had more unearned media support than any other fighter. That and not Ali's efforts in the ring have bestowed "the greatest" upon Ali. And, if Ali is in fact "the greatest" then compare Floyd's ring career with Ali's and tell me that having watched each and every fight of both fighters, that you believe that Ali is deserving of being designated "the greatest" and not Floyd Mayweather Jr. Now, I do not believe that Ali is any where near being the greatest, so there are many other fighters against whom I would expect Floyd to be measured. But putting the other great fighters aside, and just comparing Ali's career to Floyd's career (watching all available pro fights of both fighters), I can't see how any objective fight fan can choose Ali over Floyd - it isn't even close, and if I were Floyd, I'd be fighting mad if anybody said it was.Last edited by Mr.Daddy; 01-19-2015, 11:13 AM.Comment

You must have watched Ali Raymi's career instead of Muhammad Ali's by mistake.I don't think Mayweather is the greatest, but regardless of what I think and whom Mayweather faces in the ring, enough media support for Floyd can vault him to the status of "the greatest." He isn't the greatest of all time but definitely one of. Not even a hater could dispute that because it's fact. If taking punches to the head is a spectacle to Marquez then fair enough. The boxing community is so caught up in nostalgia.Comment

The man has a point. I remember Floyd saying something like "It's now how you win, but how long you win" after the second Maidana fight(a fight in which he basically won using illegal tactics), but let's be real, would Ali's win over Foreman be as great if it wasn't by dramatic knockout? I think any person who respects the sport knows the answer.Comment
