Santa Cruz is alright, best if he stays away from Frampton!

    Santa Cruz:

    1) He has a good chin.

    2) Decent defense, but not hard to penetrate through.

    3) Offense is very versatile, but when you go for 6 punch combos you also open up for the other guy to counter you.

    4) His power is nothing to worry about at this weight.

Things that stand out are superior cardio and volume punching, but has he fought someone talented enough to counter and make him pay and perhaps adjust and fight different? 2 weight champ btw.

    Carl Frampton:

    1) Good chin.

    2) His defense is a lot better than Cruz because it is not basic hands up style so he can slip as well as block.

    3) Leo may throw in a huge volume, but Carl is more economical in his approach.

    4) Frampton has one punch KO power. It is not like Randal Bailey, but is better than that of Cruz.

    5) This is where imo it gets interesting, I believe Frampton has great counter punching ability as seen especially against Cazares and Martinez 1.

Cruz loves to throw many punches and I think Frampton will be able to time him. I definitely believe Frampton stops Cruz, no doubt.

Frampton is simply an overall complete/skilled fighter, can cut the ring, be aggressive and put pressure OR box on back foot while trying to counter. His upcoming defense will be a showcase performance of him as a World Champion.

I agree he should. Then again we live in a 4 belt era. Frampton I do believe as I remember you posting in that thread will and should fight Rigo within 2 fights. Meanwhile I believe after getting this fight out of the way, he should target Cruz and thus Rigo.

I think Avalos is probably a tougher fight. LSC is of zero threat to Frampton or Rigondeaux. I don't think he beats Quigg either.

I'd bet my house Frampton would beat his ass.

Well he says he wants to fight Rigo and that fight makes sense because Rigo is available. If Santa Cruz were to fight Frampton he would have to wait a month. Yeah I agree that Santa Cruz loses to both.

Santa Cruz likes to brawl it out, but he doesn't have the power to do that, and just makes himself open to counters. Cruz was getting hit a lot against Ruiz, he can't do that against Rigo or is he going to get seriously hurt. He wants to fight Abner Mares, but Mares has a fight on March and he would have to move up to featherweight. If Santa Cruz doesn't fight Rigo he is clearly ducking him.

Frampton has many looks where as what is Cruz going to do? We all know, walk straight and throw tons of punches. Frampton can adjust and we may even see a new side to the kid against Cruz, I mean he is that talented.

I have liked Frampton for a minute. Think he is a world class level fighter. Like the way he fights.

Having said that, and despite some of the hate LSC gets on here, it will be a tough one.

I'd go out of my way to watch it.

LSC should fight Rigo. Of course Frampton has his fight coming up, and than have one more fight most likely against Quiggs. After that he should fight Rigo.

As of now, Frampton would win by 8-4 type of decision. I don't think he'd stop Santa Cruz though. Ruiz was an overall solid fighter, but Frampton would do everything he did 10x better.

Santa Cruz should stick to what he does best, which is throw a ton of punches. He said he focused on sitting on his punches more and throwing less in the Ruiz fight. In my opinion that didn't work too well.
