Yes Ali couldn't beat cruiser bums like Doug Jones, Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, Earnie Shavers or Jimmy Young convincingly. But he wipes the floor with WK, Fury and Wilder in a single night out.

    Sounds very plausible

Putting aside the rest of that moronic content, how were Ali's wins over Liston not convincing? And how was the 215 lb Liston a "cruiser"?

Liston started his career as a sub200 and steadily increased. 215 for the Ali fight is roughly the weight of a Cruiserweight rehydrated today on fight night.

Except of course cruisers are lean and muscular whereas Liston is a bit of a chubber.

        On the wins?

The first fight was a RTD from Liston via injury. Whether it was because of all the missed punches or not is irrelevant because the scorecards were even.

One guy Liston steamrolled forward and one guy Clay, ran away the whole time.

The second fight Liston took what can only be described as a blatant dive from a punch that would not have knocked my grandmother over. Some of the poorest acting ever!

Ali never convincingly beat Liston. Fact!

Half those guys are cruiserweights and/or never KOd anyone but a cruiserweight.

Wilder is faster than Ali and much bigger.

              It's utterly unbelievable.

Even when one of there boxers DOES win a HW title, he is STILL rubbished against prehistoric bummy cruisers like Ali!

Ali LITERALLY would not be able to carry Deontay's jock strap!

              It's "hedging the bets"..

If Deontay should later get busted up, they can still fall back on ancient mythology.

And they have lately found a NEW avenue as well, if Wilder or another of their boxers fails, not only can they fall back on the past, they also now declare that there are basketballers and footballers out there that can take to boxing far more successfully than Wilder.

Never underestimate the nerve of the American excuse-machine.

I still think Wilder is a hypejob who'd get destroyed by Wladimir

that been said. he'd probably beat Ali.

the sport evolves, athletes improve, and yesterday's top fighters would be tomato cans today.

Mmm...i pick Wilder by KO. Sadam Ali is just too small for Deontay.

Yeah, I really should know better by now. No more Trollroy responses from me.

Ali is unlike anything Wilder has ever faced. There is still a good way to go for Wilder before this fight is even worth discussing. If Wilder went on to KO Fury, Wladimir, Povetkin, Haye (after a succesful comeback), etc., and then went on to dominate the division for some years, we could talk about it. Right now, no... Ali would win by decision or late TKO.
