the clinch crap on wlad is so 1990s guys. always bringing that up but Kenny and Floyd already proved that clinching is ok.
Klitschko has been trashed for 10 years for doing what Wilder did last night!

Hug, grab, hold, jab, hold again, lean your body weight, more jab. That's wrestling. Nothing like what Wilder did at all.Comment

lol tbf, Wilder was more exciting, he actually pounced on Stiverne when he had Stiverne hurt plus he's more of a character inside the ring, talking crap and making it fun.Credit to Wilder. He beat a top heavyweight. I think he has elevated himself above the level of a hype job but I don't look forward to him holding the WBC Heavyweight belt hostage for the next year fighting bums.
Klitschko would beat Wilder easily on point I think though.
Having said that, h2h Wlad takes Wilder apart.Comment

Wladimir can't move and box like he used to so he resorts to clinching when his opponent gets close. I don't like it and the Povetkin fight was a disgrace. Wlad looked like lazy as hell out there.
However, considering how slow and inactive Stiverne was, there was really no need to clinch much and I don't think Wladimir would have to have clinched him much either. There's no telling if Wilder would clinch more if his opponent was much more aggressive and faster.
I have to agree with those who say he fought more like Vitali.Comment

For the past fights, Wlad has never feared anything coming back at him. One, he was the more rangier fighter and held the distance great by sticking out his arms. Two, his opponents weren't too aggressive. Wlad usually passed up the more aggressive fighters to his brother, Vitali. With Wilder, he can't use his longer range, and two, Wilder is aggressive and hungry. Wlad doesn't fear well with aggressive fighters, because he's forced to fight at a faster paced, get exhausted and makes plenty of errors. Look at his losses against Corrie and Brewster. I favor Wilder, but Wilder is still unpolished and get reckless when he senses blood.Wilder, Fury and Jennings are definitely the easiest top heavies for Wladimir to beat. They are not as physically strong as the others.
Chris Arreola is still the toughest US boxer at this time.
Punch resistance is very important against Wladimir who will tag you often and hard the entire time.Comment

To the author of the thread --->>>> Wilder did NOT fight like Wlad at all!!! he actually used his skills and boxed. He did NOT hold HUG or GRAB!!! Wilder was exciting because he took on an aggressive opponent and punched the aggression out of him. he took a chance here and there but fought a smart fight and answered a bunch of questions that boxing experts and fans had.For the past fights, Wlad has never feared anything coming back at him. To the above quote --->>>> After watching the fight last night I think Wlad would beat Wilder maybe by KO. Wilder had been hit easily by B-Ware and was stunned at times Wlad outweighs Wilder by 40 or so lbs. He would still be the bigger stronger man in the ring. Let Wilder fight a few other HW's this year and see if we still are talking about him as we are right now.Comment
