    MGM Grand, Las Vegas - WBC super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz (29-0-1, 17KOs) retained his world title with an eight round stoppage win over a game Jesus Ruiz (32-6-5, 21KOs)

    Santa Cruz was taking his time in the contest, winging hard hooks to the body and following up with punches upstairs to the head. Santa Cruz started picking up the pace in the third and unloading combinations in bunches. Ruiz continued to hang in there and fought back when needed.

      Santa Cruz good stamina throws lots of straight punches volume puncher no big power comes straight ahead no angles movement or defense. Tries hard rigo angles him moves sets traps breaks him down his aggression will work against him he will go out punching just outclassed by rigo and broken down stopped

        Not an impressive outing for LSC. At least he wasn't dropped twice in the same round though.

            Thanks for letting me know the result, since I boycotted this fight. I refuse to watch Santa Cruz ever again unless it's against Rigo, Frampton or Quigg. And we all know he lacks the guts to face any of those guys.

                  But you'll watch Rigo fight tomato cams overseas. Sounds like great logic.
