  • Comments Thread For: Not Pound-For-Pound: BoxingScene's Top 10, KO For KO

Like a much needed potion after a long desert journey, nothing aids better to a spectator after a prolonged and dull fight than a one-punch knockout. Nothing surpasses this particular moment – not superstitious speed or reflexes, not stunning anger or strong character, not a blatant foul or a second a verdict is voiced – only when a scythe-like punch separates one from its senses, people start to feel both awe and beauty of prizefighting.

Pound-for-pound rankings reveal the best fighter in the world. This chart – call it Knockout-for-Knockout – lists those, who are the most spectacular (safe for several exceptions).

    Timing isn’t accidental.

Two of the sport’s fiercest and scariest punchers will collide in an expected shootout Saturday night in Las Vegas. Bermane Stiverne stopped Chris Arreola to show his power and to snatch the WBC heavyweight title a year after a wide decision in their first meeting. Deontay Wilder is yet to find someone to hear a final bell within the same moment with him.

Their collision is all what a true fan of the sport can anticipate. Maybe it won’t last long. But it’ll be a thriller all the way.

How great is Stiverne’s and Wilder’s power? How good do them fit to a company of the sport’s most feared ****ers? Who are the best of the crop?

Questions are raised. Answers to them – from a separate point of view – are found below. [Click Here To Read More]

I would have Lucas at one for sure and Stevenson at two. Lucas is a nightmare in a small body and Adonis put several top ten guys that have been credibly tested to sleep. I soon expect to add that freak that just knocked out tavoris cloud on here because tavoris is as durable as they come.

I've been waiting for this as KO for KO is a better assessment than P4P (which is subjective bull****).

This site is so biased against Ali Raymi.

Have you even seen any of the Prince Maz fights?

Instead of Pac/Marquez, waiting a bunch of years, they got it over with in like a year

          Nice, well thought-out list indeed.

I personally would have placed Wladimir right behind GGG, as he's had so many fights, and so many KO's. His power is so visibly devastating just like GGG's.

He's gotta have the most power, and highest KO percentage for boxers who fight so cautiously, with low punch output.

This list is ******ed. Not having Deontay Wilder at 1 shows you know nothing about power. The dude touches people and they drop dead and start convulsing violently. You can just look at the speed, leverage and devastating explosiveness he ends his fights with.

When he knocks out Bermane Stiverne in another violent spectacle you'll look ****** for putting him at 5. Also why is Nicolas Walters so high? He beat up two smaller fighters in Donaire and Darchinyan.. He's done nothing that Mikey Garcia wouldn't do either.

I don't understand the reasoning of Deontay Wilder being #7 because of his quality of opposition, and GGG being #1. Not that he's fighting cab drivers or anything like that, but he's not fighting anyone elite either. There are fighters on this list with comparable KO ratios and far better resumes IMO.

That being said, I'd rate either Kovalev or Klitschko at #1. I'd also have Bermaine Stiverne on the list over Carl Froch.

Are you a moron? Compare the number of top-10 opponents each have KOed.
