After his injury he was never going to take a high risk first defense of this title.

JJD is an easy defense in itself so he may as well just fight him.

To be honest I'm not really fussed whom he fights next, I'm surprised he's back so quickly to be honest, that machete attack looked nasty, he's lucky he didn't lose his leg. I'm not convinced he'll come back the same fighter.
