... maybe because the fight isn't actually being negotiated, or isn't as far along as Arum is feeding the media to believe.

The notion that CBS CEO Les Moonves would just agree to Arum's proposed 60/40 split (let alone any discussion of Pacquiao's fight advances), rather than open the books and determine the actual value for both fighters (66/34 Mayweather split is likely closer, based on the rumored PPV numbers and gates) gave me the inkling that Arum was simply being Arum.

You then think about the other terms that Arum has now quickly agreed to; deciding to go with the MGM Grand without weighing a formal proposal from Cowboys Stadium, accepting USADA handling the protocol for testing instead of VADA, spurning his beer sponsor Tecate (the same company that he trashed the MGM Grand on account of), no hangups over the choices of gloves for the fight, the order of the fighters on the event's marquee, Mayweather's desire to be the lead promoter on the fight, Mayweather's desire to not have Top Rank on the marquee, etc.

With all of these issues in flux, does anyone honestly believe that Arum sat down and said yes to everything? lol

As to your othr theory it would seem to me that HBO wants it shown on both networks how badly Manny schools mayweather, so more people will tune into his next fights. If they thought he was going to lose why would they want that shown on both networks? Does that make any sense?
I honestly doubt that position, for the simple fact that Alvarez would want to be paid handsomely as well (even if Cotto-Alvarez manages to do 750k PPV buys, once the distributors get paid the two fighters will be splitting $20m-$25m between the two of them).

Mayweather-Cotto 2 is a far bigger fight than Cotto-Alvarez and the fact that Cotto walks into such negotiations with the WBC middleweight championship gets him a floor of $10m.

HBO, SHO don't give a phukk who wins. They only want numbers a to pay them well from the event. Just because HBO has Pac under contract and SHO has Floyd, at the end of the day, they want PAID! If it's Bull Riding, they want paid. If it's a U2 Concert, they want paid. They are all part of their investment portfolio.

STFU! You have no clue about PPV buys, the ins and outs of this biz; stop playing fantasyland like you know what the hell you're talking about, or pre-suppose you know the biz better than those that actually do this for a living.

Secondly you're an idiot if you think Floyd-Cotto 2 is a bigger fight than Cotto-Canelo. Floyd makes his $32M, and that's it. There's no demand for a Floyd-Cotto rematch, there was nothing controversial in the first fight, it wasn't that close. Cotto never asked for a rematch at the time, and Floyd never extended one. Fans weren't asking for one. Floyd's numbers have dropped like a rock since the Canelo fight. They lied about the numbers in Maidana 2, and the true numbers have never been disclosed. SHO has stated "No Comment". Floyd is the only one going to the bank; SHO has taken a financial beating. The public are basically saying in Floyd's declining numbers, "we're no longer interested in Floyd's antics, paying $70 for his PPV. The only fight they want is Pacquiao".

Canelo/Cotto, is an epic Mexico-Puerto Rico clash that is a massive sell given the history of great Mexican vs Puerto Rican legends. Held in Texas Stadium supported heavily by Mexican fight fans in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Mexico close by... Is the biggest fight this side of Floyd/Pacquiao. To say Floyd/Cotto 2 is a bigger fight is hilarious. Nobody who knows anything about Boxing agrees with that!!! LOL! STFU!

If Floyd's numbers dropped like a rock after Canelo from 2.2M to 800K twice, what is your simile for Canelo's numbers since they dropped from 2.2M to 300K twice?

I believe that there is a contract that has been drawn up and team pacquiao is waiting for floyd to sign so manny can sign. Manny "agreed" to all of floyds demands to all that is needed is floyd to sign his end and then Manny to sign. The fact that Hbo and showtime are negotiating means that things have moved beyond purse splits and gloves. When Hbo and Showtime make the deal floyd will sign and manny will sign.

LOL!! Floyd locked in his $200m six fight deal based on Floyd supposedly always doing over a mil each fight. SHO has taken it in the shorts ever since Canelo fight. Those are Floyd's expectations. Nobody holds a 24, 26 year old Canelo to those same numbers. HBO isn't hemmoraging over Canelo's numbers for whatever they are. The public is showing they have grown tired of Floyd, not wanting to spend that $70 for PPV to watch him fight anyone other than Manny Pacquiao. And that's the same with Pacquiao fighting Brandon Rios or Chris Algieri. Brook-Khan at Wembley Stadium would go viral. Cotto-Canelo at Texas Stadium would be ridiculous numbers. Your 800 number last on Floyd in Maidana 2 is grossly exaggerated, and that's already been questioned in the Boxing media. The true number was well below your 800, and SHO won't divulge, but they aren't happy on Espinoza's clock, SHO is getting crushed. Cotto 2 is of no interest.

Manny already agreed AND signed. Just waiting on Floyd. It's all a joke.
