No I get what is being proposed. You have to back up and look at two things; first, the op I was responding to. I was very much on topic and on point.

Secondly, my original post where I said they buck both networks and go with a lesser network (Sky Sports, Fox Sports, ESPN, etc.) The fight sells itself. You don't need a big network to hold it up. I just don't know if their contracts mandate that they can NOT fight under another banner.

Conversely when either is left in making a business decision by betting on who the winner is going to be HBO is on the loser , or at least they think they are and it is making them very nervous .
well to be fair there is a ton at stake that rebroadcast will prob have more viewers then the actual ppv depending what happens in the fight

Floyd is contractually obligated to Showtime with his deal, so right off the bat that is impossible.

Not sure of the particulars, but considering the fact that Top Rank exclusively fights on HBO I would imagine their promotion have contractual obligations to HBO as well.

They let him get away with weed and almost got two fighters seriously injured. They recently just let Jon Jones do coke and have low testosterone and no punishment whatsoever.

If this fight ends in a KO than that network gets to show the delay

If this fight goes to the scorecards than both get to air it. Problem solved

oh please arum been rigging fights before u were born

Yeah, you're probably right. I just wondered if their agreements were similar to what belt holders have with sanctioning bodies. You can fight whoever you want inbetween mandatories... so long as you fight our mandatories.

I wondered if Floyd or Manny could fight for outside networks so long as they fulfilled their # of fight contracts with HBO/Showtime in a timely manner.

Oh off course I understand what your saying , I guess people in forums talk Manny up in this fight but the fact is Floyd is odds on fav to win and these people are business people not forum fans .

This fight is happening on Showtime, or not at all.

Showtime is not going for that. Do you think they would be cool with being shut out of the biggest PPV event in history and would just welcome Floyd back with open arms to finish out his 30 million per fight deal?

                      Same thing with Manny.

It's not possible without the full cooperation of both networks. You aren't talking about a couple of non-PPV fighters or the network not caring what network they fight on because they weren't interested in picking up the broadcast rights to fight with a no-name mandatory.
