HBO are refusing that, which I can understand.

Their guy is favoured to lose and in turn they would lose the broadcast rights. Business wise they won't be in any rush to agree a deal that could see their interests lose on both counts.

Showtime didn't have a problem with it and their guy(tyson) was favored to lose.

        Indeed, HBO clearly do though.

They are obviously not too confident and don't want to lose the rights to the biggest/richest fight in history.

Of all the fl0mo businessmen that have blessed our nsb, I would think you guys would see sense here...it's quite unfortunate your minds only factor Floyd's profit.

That was a bull**** arrangement in 2002, and it's unfortunate Showtime got suckered into that deal considering their dog wasn't expected to win, but it would be even dumber for HBO to agree to it today with a MUCH bigger fight at stake.

Both networks are investing considerable money and time into this (and HBO actually built both stars and appealed them to their subscribers) but only one is allowed to reap benefits from it the following week? c'mon now, who wants to play sucker?

It shouldn't be a problem because hbo or showtime are not promoters.

Yeah there's got to be a compromise somewhere.

If it doesn't come through this time NSAC may just rob both of these guys in their next fights due to all the money they would be losing out on.
