BoxingScene.com ran a story on Tuesday, where Hall of Fame promoter Don King promised to get former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson out of retirement to fight WBC champion Bermane Stiverne. Everyone thought he was kidding. It appears he is not. King wants to give Tyson, 48-years-old and inactive since June 2005, the opportunity to make history by attempting to become the oldest man to win a world heavyweight title. Stiverne has a big fight on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he faces mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder in a Showtime televised main event.

I think Don misses being a major player in the sport. Now he's just fishing for a paycheck. Wonder if it pisses him off that Arum outlasted him as a top promoter. I'm glad his years of robbing fighters has burned his bridges. People hate on Haymon but at least he makes sure the guys who may end up with life altering injuries from boxing get paid.
