IMO a "terribly wrong pick" would be

A huge underdog winning a decision or stoppage

A 50/50 fight ending early by stoppage

A favorite getting completely outclassed/dropped repeatedly

Probably more situations

Froch Vs Groves II. I was so sure. Convinced myself.

To paraphrase a comment I read on here the other day - I didn't pick the fight wrong, he just failed to follow the gameplan that I'd laid out and would have lead him to victory!

. . . In hindsight though I'm glad. I wouldn't have wanted to see Froch going out like that.

Martinez over Cotto

Same .. I thought even a shot Martinez would be too much.

Now all of the sudden it's a meaningless win for Cotto ... But that's a whole other story

I can't think of one off the top of my head. There was no Garcia/Matthysse for me last year. I did pick Martinez, but I also said since the day it was announced that it was very possible Martinez would be shot and lose. I picked Cleverly by a wide decision over Bellew and the opposite happened. I picked Maidana by KO in the rematch but I knew I was just going off the wall for that.

I had a pretty good year. Besides Cotto/Martinez, I think Brook/Porter was the Garcia/Matthysse of 2014. I got that one right.

three that i can think of off the top of my head:

1) martinez/cotto i picked martinez to stop cotto late or win a clear decision.

2) i picked provodnikov to stop algieri

3) i also picked porter to stop brook late, haha.
