Comments Thread For: Orlando Salido-Roman Martinez Getting Close For 4/11

Various sources in Puerto Rico have advised BoxingScene.com that deal is close for WBO super featherweight champion Orlando "Siri" Salido (42-12-2, 29KOs) to defend his title for the first time against Roman "Rocky" Martinez (28-2-2, 17KOs) on April 11th in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Salido is no stranger to fighting in Puerto Rico. He had two memorable victories on the island against Juan Manuel Lopez. Salido also holds a knockout victory over Puerto Rico's Orlando Cruz. Although Martinez will undoubtedly have the crowd behind him, Salido's style of fighting has gained him quite a number of fans in Puerto Rico.

I got Salido by late T.K.O., but if he fails to get the stoppage then Martinez by U.D. with scores of 120-108 by all 3 judges.

Sounds like another beat down in Puerto Rico. Another boricua bites the dust.

You'd need to knock Martinez out just to get a draw in any venue, but in Puerto Rico? For the WBO belt? Salido can kill him and still be lucky to settle for a split decision loss.

Orlando SalPEDo is still getting fights because Top Rank doesn't care if they put their own fighters at risk of getting KOed by known PED-users...ask Manny Pac and Juan Manuel Lopez

Super lame fight. Roman is garbage. Guess they are trying to build up that hatred in PR for a future showdown against Verdejo.

I think Roman has less in the tank than Salido and Salido's the one that's been in more wars.
