He's not married to the May date. Oscar has said that if Mayweather/Pacquiao does happen Canelo would move the date.
If it doesn't happen, then he'll fight on that date.

The date isn't even an issue anymore. His problem is he's been negotiating for this fight for months, he has agreed to all terms dictated by Cotto and he still hasn't gotten the man to sign.

That would frustrate anyone. If it was the other way around, everyone would be on Canelo saying he's too afraid to fight Cotto and he's being a punk.

WTF are you talking about? You negotiate for a fight on a certain date. However if for some reason something happens you can move the date. It has happened countless times. A fight is set for one date, and if a fighter gets hurt or something happens they move the date. No difference here. You sign for a date, and if in this instance May/Pac comes off, then you move the date. Isn't really that hard.

If anything signing the Canelo/Cotto fight might accelerate the Mayweather/Pacquiao negotiations.
