Is Danny's power overrated? It seems like his power comes from throwing haymakers.

I dont get the thinking of boxers sometimes. Whether the strategy is to take the opponent into deep waters, or not get hit, ultimately the idea is to win rounds WHILE you're doing it. Did Peterson dominate the last 5 rounds? Yes. But he wore his track shoes through the first 7, virtually giving Garcia an insurmountable number of rounds in the bank.
Peterson's safety first/pot shot strategy the first 7 rounds will only win you a fight if you're Bernard Hopkins. By the time Peterson started sitting down and beating Garcia up, he had already lost the fight. He wasn't gonna get the KO or KD he needed to erase those first 7 rounds he gift wrapped to Garcia.
Meanwhile, Peterson starts clowning during his late rounds beating on Garcia. It made Peterson look like an even bigger fool. Because Peterson and Hunter were the only ones among the 15, 000 people in the arena and millions watching on tv, that DIDN'T know they were well on their way to losing on points.
Peterson clearly had the skill to stay in the pocket with Garcia for 12 rounds. Why he chose to do it only in the final 5 rounds is a mystery.

It was a great game plan but he needed to execute early... It's basic math. If you sweep the last 5 rounds but basically gave up the first 7 you're pretty much screwed especially when you're in with a guy who hasn't been knocked down of out ever.

When did people forget about even rounds?
If people utilized even rounds as they are suppose to, this is a clear landslide victory for Peterson.
Instead people feel the need to give either round to one guy or another, even when nothing happens.
And there are several of the rounds in the first half of the fight that should have been scored even, where Peterson negated all of Garcia's offense, and made him look like horse ****.
A close round that could have went either way, should be scored even.

I saw the fight again last night and this is what I saw;
Danny def took rounds 2, 3, 5, 6, 7.
Peterson def took rounds 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
Rounds 1 and 4 are still up in the air to me.
Should have probably been a draw.
