I feel you on that one. This is the biggest news of the year and they are acting like Dan Rafeal level haters on here. Its obvious that Haymon was saving his marquee fights for his NBC campaign.

People are too dumb to realize what he was doing by having his fighters take stay busy fights last year so he can showcase big fights on NBC. I for one will have as many fight parties so to speak. I hope the schedule for the fights works out right, beer, pretzels, pizza, friends and boxing baby!!!

Let's calm down a bit here.

This isn't even up to what UFC on FOX did their first time out (Dos Santos-Velasquez)...and the quality of those UFC on FOX fights dropped off significantly.

If the match-making falls off at all on these NBC fights this will get bad in a hurry.

These fights are solid, but people are so damn thirsty they'll call anything champagne.

The most exciting part about this is if it works than it will do two things. It will create a platform in which boxers get more stable pay. You don't have to really worry about every fight being a super fight to bring a good check in. Which I imagine will force Top Rank and Golden Boy to have to follow the same model or risk losing their fighters to greener pastures.

The second and most exciting thing is it will put boxing back into a more recognized and respected position in the sports world. This will do great to grow the popularity of the sport. It frustrates me that boxing is not more popular than it is, or that I can't tune in to watch fights like I can a basketball game. Matthyse vs Molina should have been a much talked about sporting event. Broner vs Maidana, Alexander vs Khan, Brook vs Porter should have all been as talked about as whatever basketball or football game was on at the time.

I really hope this succeeds for the sake of the sport.

Most definately. Itll create overall competition from other networks such as HBO=bettere fights, as well as other prpmotional stables who wont have the luxury of working with Haymon. Another thing, with Haymon not signing his fighters exclusively to a single promotional company, itll give the fighters more options as far as opposition goes, with participation promotional companies that is. My hunch is that before the 1st half of the year is out, Promotional companies will be vying to secure rights to promote an Al Haymon event & fighters will soon have mpre leverage than promoters. No wonder Bob hates Al. MAJOR power shift in boxing.

And i agree boxing needs to be more mainstream, in my circle im the only hardcore boxing fan and nobody knows wtf im talkn about most of the time id definately like to see boxing broadcast just like the other sports..hopefully haymon changes that.
