Pacquiao and Top Rank, his promoter, have agreed to terms for a May 2 bout, Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti told ESPN.com on Tuesday night, although Mayweather has not yet agreed to terms and it remains to be seen if he will.
    Source unknown, involved in negotiations:
According to a source involved in the negotiations, Pacquiao has agreed to a 40 percent cut of the revenue, leaving Mayweather with the remaining 60 percent
    Moretti:
If the fight is finalized, it would take place May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Moretti said

The sides are so far along that they have drafted contracts, according to the Pacquiao side

the attorneys on Mayweather's side indicated there were still open issues, although what they are is not clear, according to a source.

    @tredh
What don't you get about they are agreeing to points that will be in the final contract?
You see, when lawyers draft a contract for a deal, they draft one, I sign it, and send it over to the other side. If it's agreeable, other side signs and sends it back. If it needs *********s, they amend, they sign, and if I agree, then I sign. That's usually how it works. If it's how it works in this case, I don't know. I'm sure there are particulars still that need working out.

If they got so far as to Manny signing one, I don't know, and I made a mistake and apologized. If that's not good enough for you, sorry.

So they are drafting one to the major points of contention that Mayweather wanted, but apparently there's still points of contention, as per the 3rd source from above.

No need for apologies we well atleast I'm shooting the shlt while at work its not that serious.

I know certain aspects of how contracts work. They don't draft a contract for each sides points. A sheet with each sides points are sent over and what is sent back is what each side agrees to and don't agree to and each sides agreed upon points is intialed beside it. Once all points are agreed to then and only then is contract drafted and within that contract are all the points each sided has agreed to and that is what is signed by each side.

Id like to see e rematch. Im a fan of good fights and a rematch would be very interesting with roach in cottos corner. Don't interpret that to mean I prefer it over pacquiao.

But imagine this senerio. May fights cotto for MW strap and wins. Huge. May gains another division for his resume. THen the May vs Pac fight happens and now pac is fighting for the MW strap as well. Pac gets another chance at another division to add to his 8 or so divisions. Imaging the build up to that fight. It would become a billion dollar fight.

Would have to ignore the comics of pac fighting for the MW belt but most causals wont care.

I hear ya. IF it's true. And right now, all the sources are coming from the Top Rank side. Forgive my skepticism. I'll be the happiest man alive if this fight comes off. But rumors of negotiations from Top Rank don't move.

              Flo mos:

Before June 7th 2014, Mayweather fighting Martinez or GGG for the MW belts were inconceivable, Mayweather was too small, he can barely make the 154 weight, he might as well fight Klitschko, blah blah blah

After June 7th 2014, Mayweather should Cotto for the MW belt, he can totally make the MW limit, it would be for legacy, he could do it!

This is the closest they've come to fighting since 2010 except this time it seems everything's agreed on.

I still think it happens but Dan Rafael's tweets and now this tweet is making my think maybe not.
He doesn't care, whatever alibi he comes up with his groupies (IMDAZED, Big Dung, Reloaded etc) will justify it some way, somehow.

Mayweather beating a faded, blown up welterweight that managed to snag a belt away from a literal cripple for the second time isn't huge. It would only serve to highlight how much of a farcical joke professional boxing actually is.

I suspect most Mayweather cultists are secretly (not so secretly in the case of Scipio2009, who's already begging mom to fork out the seventy plus dollars) hoping and praying that much a rematch comes to fruition, as it represents yet another guaranteed victory for the Artful Dodger.

What if he fights him because Pacquiao ducked him (again)? Then what.
