You'd have to be pretty gullible to think that Haymon will consistently provide quality cards on non-PPV TV. This is just part of his master plan. Haymon is about total control and money for nothing. He is trying to create a monopoly so the fans have no choice but to accept whatever he is willing to offer. He may provide a free sample but you know there's going to be lots of fine print that explain how things are going to go down in the future. I really do hope I'm wrong but Haymon's actions up until now have done nothing to convince me otherwise. He is the snake in the Garden of Eden, just waiting for its helpless victims to take a bite of the poisonous, disease-ridden apple of death.
I'm somewhat surprised how quickly people start praising him for one proposed fight card when he clearly has ulterior motives and is ready to pull the rug out from under the unsuspecting fans the moment they think everything is fine and dandy.
Al haymon is a joke! This man deprived us of some of the best fights that could be made, but now we have to sing his praises be a he throws us a bone? Al haymon aka the new bob arum, is the shadiest person in the sport! There aren't enough casual fans to support stacked cards like this and generate ratings and revenue.
We hardly got to see a fight that was worth a damn in 2013. Now, Haymon is going to present us at least two quality fights in two consecutive months and your dumb ass still wants to criticize him.
I don't remember Bob Arum ever giving fans two quality fights in a year, let alone two consecutive months. No one gives a f...k about the casual fan. I will watch the fights that have been announced and so will other hardcore fans. If that is not you, stop posting on message boards.

I can't believe this dumbass post or the other dumbass posts on this story criticizing Haymon. WTF cares whether he provides quality cards on free tv? We get to see two fights in March and April that fans want to see. If he doesn't offer anything else for the rest of the year, he will have already provided us with better fights that Arum and GBP provided in all of 2013.
If you don't like what Haymon is doing or don't trust him, then don't watch the damn fights and don't wan any future fights presented by Haymon. That will show him!

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Hoping for the best possible outcome with Haymon's plan is a good thing.
But understanding what will most likely happen will educate the fans to not get their hopes up. Haymon isn't a promoter because it's fun, he does it because it's how he makes money. Right now he is coming off of years of managing Floyd Mayweather Jr the P4p King Pin and his relevance is at an all time high. Even with superstars like Broner, Garcia, and Wilder, he can only hope that things get better if he ever hopes to hold on to all this power and influence. And by better I mean fighters wanting to join Haymon as their first choice much like Don King, Top Rank, and Golden Boy over the years.
Yea as years pass by when Floyd finally hangs them up, Al Haymon will be known for creating Floyd Mayweather the multi-millionaire sports super star, mark my words. Boxing business changes year after year with new stars rising up faster and faster. The likelihood of another boxing superstar (Canelo for instance, Oscar said he is ambitious to have his own boxing stable and promotion) creating their own brand in the form of a promotional company is almost certain. That being said Haymon is in good straights right now to go through with what ever plan he has devised. One can only wonder whether boxing can survive as a mainstream prime time sport. In my opinion the small brotherhood feeling of what it means to be a boxing fan in the small market that it is is most special to me. To add to that the uncensored nature of allaccess/24/7 is what makes the sport so poetic and the perfect representation of the human condition. That exclusive nature of PPV does make the sport more special and unblemished from mainstream progressivism. All I know is the framework of boxing on HBO and Showtime is what I like. I don't want cable TV to ruin this sport.

yea you have a point. boxing has always had a prestige about it being on premium networks. but like my folks told me earlier, boxing was huge on cable tv back in the early 90s and before and hasnt been since the 90s. itll be a good experiment to see what these cards do for boxing. but i agree this could turn out to be bad you jsut never know with the bizzare nature of boxing.
