Comments Thread For: Froch: Groves Beating Dirrell in America is Very Tough

IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch feels George Groves (21-2, 16KOs) needs a few more fights before taking on WBC super middleweight champion Anthony Dirrell (27-0-1, 22KOs). Groves, who holds the WBC Silver and EBU titles, is the mandatory challenger to Dirrell.

Groves suffered back to back knockout defeats to Froch. He came back to win two in a row and in doing so secured the mandatory sport with Dirrell, who has the option to make a voluntary defense before facing Groves.

George Groves is a good fighter, his stance is killing him! He exerts too much energy from his fighting stance, this is why he fades badly in the later rounds.

Dirrell is an idiot just like his disgraceful brother. If Sauerland wins the purse bid, Dirrell will have to go overseas or give up his wbc trinket.

I know what you mean, a bit too twitchy and tense, and stands very wide. Needs to relax a little and conserve more energy.

There's no reason why this fight can't actually land on a major card in Germany. Neutral ground may be the answer.

I would love to see this fight.

                Groves-Anthony Dirrell

                Degale-Andre Dirrell

                Both very intriguing fights.

And if the Brits both win that sets up a tasty unification rematch.

... No kidding?... With an English ref?
... OK, they would get a "neutral" ref -- like from Spain or Denmark...

... I sincerely don't think that WBC would leave their 168 belt in British hands.
