Mike Alvarado’s arrest on Jan. 3 on an open warrant has also led to an additional case accusing him of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, according to The Denver Post and online court records, which indicate that Alvarado was officially charged on Jan. 12.
The arrest came during a traffic stop caused by Alvarado’s vehicle registration being expired, and officers believed they saw Alvarado, who was in the passenger seat, putting something into his glove compartment. They soon discovered the open warrant for Alvarado’s arrest, plus a handgun in the glove compartment, the report said.
