There is nothing that has happened in the last few years to make me think the Pac/Floyd fight is any closer. It may happen this time but I will believe it when and only when we have an official announcement. Floyd has said in the past unless it comes from him or Ellerbe or Haymon its just a rumor. I have a hard time believing that Pac or Arum is ready to allow Mayweather promotions be the lead on this event having 0 experience putting on a PPV without GBP involved. I don't think HBO is ready to surrender to Showtime as well.
As far as Canelo, this is no different than last year when he started training before knowing who his March opponent would be. No big deal. If Pac/May gets made he will fight Cotto in June, if it falls through like I expect it to then the deal for Cotto in May is stil on the table. Do people expect Canelo to sit around and do nothing until a contract is signed?

Mayweather will move off the date to June to fight Pan so they can milk the promotions. He will do it willingly. He's not fighting Marcus Maidena or Robert Guererro. He doesn't need the cinco de mayo weekend date to sell a fight with Pacquiao. Arum and De LA Hoya are already in coohoots for this Canelo - Cotto fight.

Me personally I could give a **** what date any of these guys fight.

Actually quite the opposite, Floyd likes to show who's boss, so he wants that May 2nd date at all cost. You don't need to milk promotions when talking Pack Floyd. Thats what Cotto is waiting for, either get the May rematch or if May vs. Pac gets signed he will make Canelo fight in june at MSG instead of May 2 in Vegas/Texas.

Cotto knows what he is doing. As big a star Canelo is/think he is, he aint in control of shit!
