Lucas has just enough boxing skills not to get hit easily at all.

And Ruslan is always moving forward, walking into punches. For a puncher like Lucas, any power puncher, when a dude walks into your punches, well the force is almost doubled. All the biggest Kos are always when someone moves into a punch.

This is why Garcia matched up well enough to Lucas, because he has decent boxing skills, and is always moving backwards. If he was moving into some of those punches from Lucas, Garcia would've been Koed.

I don't think Lucas can withstand the punches of an unhurt Provodnikov for 12 rounds, but I think he would be badly hurting Provodnikov from the start, and would KO him.

    Great fight.

Lucas can love his chances but that's about all he'll have and that's just on paper. Dude may come forward and easy to hit but he's way to much in the power area for Lucas. If Danny can take his punches this guy will do the same and knock Lucas out cold. The guy is a tank and Lucas is a blank round. I don't see Lucas finishing the fight standing up, he'll get blasted by the 7th or 8th round. ... Night night Lucas and after getting beat down he'll never be the same fighter since he'll take so much damage it'll be hard for him to recover. ...

Who has Provodnikov faced to suggest that he has a granite chin and can't be hurt? He hasn't faced a puncher and in his notable losses against Bradley and Herrera (who both can't punch) his face was a mess. Matthysse will hit him at will and with combinations, and Ruslan tends to fade after a couple of rounds too, especially if he takes some hard body shots.
Oh and remember when Roach suggested that he was thinking of stopping the fight against Bradley?

This is a bad asss fight!! I cant call it though. Slight edge maybe to ruslan because lucas went down a few times vs molina.

Matthysse isn't a good enough boxer to avoid a brawl with Provo, and he got hit with an awful amount of overhand rights from Molina, which happens to be Provo's best punch. Meanwhile, Ruslan always gets hit and it'll be interesting seeing his chin on display vs Lucas' bombs.

It's a perfect fight because both have found ways to lose fights that they shouldn't have lost - this is the ultimate battle for the champion of second best.

Will it happen? Probably not... boxing blows too many matchups that make too much sense to make.

Excellent scrap that could go either way. Not sure who to pick yet but leaning towards Mattysse for now. Prov is crude at times which isn't all that bad and this will provide some fireworks for sure.

You conveniently left out Alvarado. He's a decent puncher and Provo took his clean shots like they were nothing. Matthysse was dropped twice by Molina, and there's nothing to suggest Molina is a bigger puncher than Alvarado.

Not saying Provo will beat Matthysse (Matthysse would be my slight favourite), but there's ample evidence that Provo has the better chin.

Matthysse will box and move throwing bombs, I see this fight being kinda cruel on Provo, career-ender for one of them.

I like Matthysse's chances against anybody in that division.
