name one soccer player who has ever played 200 matches in a year? at most they play 50-60 games a year. tennis players also play less than 100 matches per year for the most part.

i'm assuming the ts is trolling though. either that or he doesn't know the first thing about how much of a toll boxing and training regularly takes on your body next to other, non combat sports.

You should check out the tests they did on Quigg before his rematch with Munroe. They found he was at least as fit as Mo Farah and Sir Chris Hoy. Boxers are world class athletes.

They can't run as fast as NFL players or jump as high as NBA players. Their athleticism is not on par with those guys.

A championship boxing match is the most grueling punishing 36 minutes in all of sports. It is about as close as you can get to the human limit in sport in that amount of time. That is with 1/3 of the time being break time.

What other sport currently speaking are knockouts/head injury taken even the least bit lightly, in boxing the whole aim of the game is to bust someones skull.

Either you respect guys who put that sort of thing on the line and if their game is not up to stuff that almost always pay the price for that for a guy who was willing to pay their toll.

That may be true, but could NBA or NFL players throw hundred of punches in just over thirty minutes? There are different types of athleticism and boxers almost certainly have better stamina

Boxer's train 3 months for a fight if they fight twice thats 6 months of hard training I'm sure many still train lightly when theres no fight. I respect a boxer more than I do an NFL,NBA, MLS,MLH and MLB. Most of these guys from these leagues are Prima Donna's

What soccer or tennis player competes 4 times a week over a full year!?!

Anyway, the training that a world class boxer goes through isn't comparable to that of a soccer player. Boxers at that level train to peak at a specific event much like a track athlete, it's far more intense.

A soccer player trains to maintain a lower level of fitness over an entire season. If they trained with the intensity of a boxer it would defeat the purpose and they'd burn out. You should also keep in mind that just because a boxer isn't in a fight camp training to reach peak fitness that doesn't necessarily mean that he isn't in the gym keeping himself ticking over.

But they can Kick their A$$ though. Boxers have different type of foot speed I was fast with my feet in and out angles yet I bet an NFL or NBA won't have my foot work in the ring and I won't be able to run as fast as they do. Do you think Pacquiao can run as fast as an NFL player ? No but can an NFL can move in the ring like a boxer of Pacquaio ? I can see you have no clue about boxing
