He cleaned out his division after the super six,and he said that he would move up after. But its 2015 and where are we? " 175 don't make sense doe" "i need 2 tune ups doe" "golovkin needs to move up to fight me doe" *****,if you offered to fight mayweather at 160,then why cant you do the same for ggg? I could give less of a flying **** if you move up or down in weight, and if you fight ggg or kovalev, but just move out of the division that you cleaned out 4 years ago,and stop pretending that the world revolves around you,and that everyone has to meet you on your own terms. Sorry about the rant guys.
      I agree 1000%!!!

Kovalev can't provide that, him getting back into the ring is all he needs to do...regardless of the Division he is fighting in. He will get to 175 eventually but it is potentially MORE MONEY AT 168 because it is overall MORE TALENT!

There's no rule stating you can't move back down if you fight at a higher division. Many fighters have moved back down after fighting at a higher division. He could always move up and take a couple of fights against the champs at 175 and move back down meanwhile these up and coming fighters establish themselves and the MW's move up as you stated. It's not so much Ward moving up to LHW as it is Ward taking on a challenge and fighting Kovalev/Stevenson.
He can do that in another year or 2 when he is done at 168...I don't think either fighters would be retiring anytime soon! All are in their Prime as fighters. Stevenson and Kovalev will still be their once Ward is done at 168

If he can still make 168 lbs he'd be crazy to move up to 175 now. Kovalev and Beterbiev are far too strong and powerful for Ward. In a couple of years, they might both move up to cruiserweight. That's when Andre will go to 175, but not before.

Again Boxing is not about power - I see Ward vs Kovalev by end of year or definitely next year! In beterbiev's last fight he got dropped in the first. What you have to realize is when a fighter is all brawn that's all you have to prepare for. Beterbieve better worry about when and if Ward goes up in weight - like Ward is going to go blow for blow with this guy - Boxing is a science built around the upset! No one wants to got to cruiser because its a wasteland, no demand for any cruiser matchups - if you can go cruiser you might as well go to heavy - more $ more notoriety. Ward can fill out more on his frame. I am not this blind Andre Ward fan, but I feel that people take too many shots at this man for no perceived reason

This is where the brain power of the boxing community has gone... Who would even care about Ward fighting either Dirrell?

That'd be like Mayweather fighting Alexander...

I'm finding this Ward/Golovkin situation very amusing. Golovkin doesn't want to move up and fight Ward because he's waiting for a money fight against Cotto or Alvarez. Ward won't move up because he's waiting for a money fight against Golovkin. The chances either guy land those fights are slim, at least in the near future.

Both guys are in the same situation, basically, too good for the fighters in their division and too good for the money to seek them out, but unwilling to move up.
Big difference is that Triple G hasn't fought any big names at 160 yet...Ward has already fought them (although he's never left the U.S.)... Ward needs to fight Kovalev... he's clearly ducking... he's a coward... his better options rather than moving up are trying to fight lower-ranked 168 pounders...

                    • Didn't Ward spend a few years at 175 in the amateurs? I know its not the same, but if he is having such an easy time making 168, why not meet GGG halfway at 164? Wait, I hate catch-weights.

Andre Dirrell at 168. Make it happen.
