Khan can KO Floyd after dominating Manny - Roach

Amir Khan's trainer Freddie Roach is convinced that the Briton can defeat Floyd Mayweather Jnr after he "beat the s**t out of" Manny Pacquiao during sparring.

Roach, who oversees both Khan and Pacquiao, pitted the two against each other during one of Khan's training sessions ahead of his bout with Marcos Maidana.

According to Roach, Khan proved his pedigree at the highest level by dominating the man widely regarded to be the world's pound-for-pound king.

"Amir beat the s**t out of him for four rounds in the last session before we started easing off the training," Roach said. "Even Manny knows that and he said so."

Khan, who defends his WBA light-welterweight strap against Maidana at the weekend, is training his sights on a 2011 bout against Mayweather Jnr. Taking on the unbeaten American would mean a step up in weight - and quality - for Khan, but Roach has no doubts that the 24-year-old has what it takes to triumph.

"I used to think I had one fighter who could beat Mayweather - but now I think I have two," Roach said. "I am not a big fan of Mayweather - Amir and Manny have speed which he can't handle. If Mayweather won't fight Manny, maybe he'll fight Amir.

"I am not saying I would want that one right now, but maybe in another two fights. I have never had a better listener than Amir. You give him a gameplan and he sticks to it. I know he will do that on Saturday."

Arum actually said Vargas is on a short list of opponents for Paquiao. Then he says he would like to put him on HBO and see how he does first. Pacquiao team said something about fighting in April if no Floyd fight. That would not give him time to showcase Vargas on HBO. IMO Arum wants April (if no May fight) because Pacquiao sometimes gets into wars and gets a little beat up himself. April will give him enough time to be fresh and ready for a possible Sept showdown with Floyd.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Danny fight but only after Mayweather, win or lose. I'm pretty sure if Pacquiao loses to Floyd it'll be by decision and still be action packed, maybe lead to a 2nd fight lol. If not after Floyd Danny is a good fight.
I would have to pick Pacquiao by TKO.

I like both fights if Pac vs Floyd can't be made, which is likely. They both have different style matchups that could lead to an entertaining bout. Khan's speed & athleticism or Garcia's counterpunching & power. But, if a Floyd fight can't be made I'm convinced that Haymon will never offer up one of his guys to TR/team Pac.

The truth is he sees Garcia as a stylistically better fight than Khan.
