Yeah well on the money split apparently mayweather has said he will go as low as 60-40 and pacquiao said that will work. So idk maybe it does happen. I've had my heart crushed too many times, so obviously im not very optimistic.

First off, what does this reporter have to do with any part of the negotiations other then the fact that he is JUST A REPORTER?

Im pretty sure that the negotiations are being done behind closed doors between Haymon and Top Rank officials

Mayweather has a good chin, & Pac has recently been KO'd, but to say that Floyd has an iron chin & Pac has a glass chin is off the mark. A past-prime Mosely nearly dropped Mayweather in the second round. If he had landed a shot like that later in the fight, Mayweather would have gone down & maybe out. Maidana hurt Floyd at the end of the 3rd round in their second fight. He was visibly wobbled & ran the entire 4th round. He even said himself in "All Access Epilogue" that Maidana hurt him. The shot that Marquez caught Pac with would have dropped a horse. Prior to getting caught the second time, he was soundly whipping up on Juan. Bradley tried with all of his might to KO Pac in their second fight, but only managed to lift him off his feet. Manny owned power punchers Margarito (who's way bigger) and Rios. Glass chin? Nah.

I might buy Khan giving Mayweather problems, if he can survive a Floyd check hook, right counter or lead. But Algieri? How can you say that Pacquiao can't beat Floyd, but in the next breath say Algieri has a shot, when Pac owned him?
Algieri learned from his embarrassing loss to Pac, he is making the right changes getting a better trainer, he also has the height, reach, stick and move style and stamina to give Floyd a hard time, Floyd is not used to chasing guys around because he mostly fights flat foot slow fighters.

Pacman in 2010 would have had a great chance at Floyd, but the Pac today is a shell, no more speed, no more insane stamina, no more high workrate, no more chin. He is not the same monster who beat Cotto or throw so many punches that Clottey couldn't breath.

Accept facts man, Floyd will throw the right hand and tie Pac up, in a boring fight. Pacman only shot is to amaze us, to do the unthinkable and that isn;t going to happen the unthinkable is to either knock Floyd out or to out box him at his own game, to me out boxing Floyd would be more embarrassing for Floyd than getting knocked out, because thats Flooyds game and if a guy like Pac beats him at his own game, Floyd will be called a fraud who get exposed.

Floyd is not going to lose man, if the fight gets made I will bet big on Floyd to win either by stoppage before 5 or unanimous decision.

only a FOOL will bet on Pacman.

I agree. This is still the biggest fight in boxing and it's testiment to how exceptional these two fighters are that at this point in their careers it's still one of the biggest single events that can be made in any sport.

At some point I'll re-conceptualise it so that I can get around the disappointing fact that this is another opportunistically picked fight that fits perfectly into Floyd's M.O.

Maybe the only way I'll manage to do that is by rooting for Pacquiao!

                edit from article:
"Mayweather sought a split at least 60-40 in his favor, and Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs) expressed a willingness to meet that."

last edit: I dont know if you guys read dan rafeal's boxing chat(you should), but he was very optimistic today... i'm guessing from this lil tid bit of news.

Info gets leaked all of the time. In this case, it could be by design, to ramp up interest in the fight. The last thing a reporter needs is to be discredited for passing bad info.

A bit late for that. The worst nightmare has already happened in KTFO6. It'll be just another loss at this stage (if he does lose).
