How can Pacquiao who beat the no. 2 or 3 ranked welterweight on the planet and a top p4p entrant not be included yet Floyd is, having spent the year fighting a guy who barely cracks the top 10 at 147 lol

Not to mention Ruoreng and Inoue and GGG...which of these guys beat a higher rated opponent than Bradley?
I could be wrong but I think this article is supposed to be about which titlists acted the most "champ-like" in 2014. And technically Manny wasn't a champion when he fought Bradley so that win doesn't count in these rankings.

I agree that Floyd shouldn't be as high as he is but crying about Manny not being there is silly (unless I'm wrong about the rules).

Just go to Ring Magazine and check which weight class has champions. You will find Floyd as champion in 2 weight classes. Though Ring was soft on Cotto. Identified as champion by beating an injured and old Martinez.

Martinez was the man who beat the man back to Hopkins. That's what Ring is supposed to be about. Nothing soft there.

As to Pac, I have nothing but respect for what he's done. In 2014, he regained a belt and defended against a hopeless guy one class below. Pretty standard stuff.

As to bias against Floyd, hey, Make a case for who is at fault. Don't care. Not blaming it all on him and I have a long body of work that says otherwise. I find the bias idea funny.

so mayweather acted like a champion by fighting maidana twice when there were clearly better opponents available and willing and when even the boxing public didnt want the fights?

ok.....this is why this site has some of the worst articles on the internet.

One fight after fighting the biggest and/or best available guy at 154, he fought a legit top ten contender coming off a big win. I don't see anything foul in that. When he got taken to the limit, he gave that guy a rematch. I didn't love Maiden but those weren't bad defenses. They just weren't Pacquiao. Took that into account.

This is NOT a P4P list. That's the point. But, hey, I've been accused of bias against Mayweather and Pacquiao by readers here so that's cool I guess. Maybe, just maybe, there are some readers carrying a bias? Just a thought.

he fought a champion at 154, while being a champion himself at a catchweight, its pretty much unprecedented in boxing but none of that has anything to do with him being a "champion" at welterweight, does it? was alvarez as welterweight titlist/champion/contender?

Point was, after a solid 2013, he fought a top ten Welterweight contender of note as a reigning titlist and when Maidana earned it, he got a return. That's pretty solid.
