By Cliff Rold - Roman Gonzalez versus Sergey Kovalev…who wouldn’t want to see that?

Well, actually, pretty much everyone. Gonzalez and Kovalev are two of the sports most exciting bad asses. At 112 and 175 lbs., respectively, they won’t be fighting.

It’s fun to imagine what would happen if they were the same size. A lot of air and ink is spent hypothesizing on it all the time. Jim Lampley has a pound-for-pound list. ESPN, Ring, TBRB, this site, and Cousin It all have theirs too.

It’s fun to play what if.

Once a year, it’s fun to play what is.

Repeating what was said last year about this time:

While their volume and politics often water down the merit of winning a ‘world title,’ championships are still at the core of achievement in boxing. The sport doesn’t take place in a pound-for-pound fantasyland. It takes place in weight classes, one fight at a time, with two primary goals: [Click Here To Read More]

    No Pacquiao = Mayweather bias

Quite interesting that Manny Pacquiao is noted as the sole reason that Mayweather isn't higher on the list yet Pacquiao isn't on the list at all. The discreprency is indicative of marked bias.

KTFO, 3 gifts, faming on leftovers, and now fighting softies. Nah, PAC isn't on the list. Look for Thurman to be there next year. No, khan couldn't con his way there either. Cotto the dead-meat butcherman can't make it either.

Just like that huh..? Just a blanket statement with no critical analysis. This style of "debating" is typical and quite indicative of the average Pacquiao fan/Mayweather hater. Insults, emojis, memes and thoughtless blanket statements are the only things you guys have left. The Tea Party of sports fans. Congratulations.

That's not the only thing about what was written in the article that indicates bias. The whole notion that Mayweather and Mayweather alone should be able to make this fight happen, which the article alluded to, is ridiculously biased. Its basically stating that the fight not happening is Mayweather's fault no matter what Arum and Pacquiao do and have done to prevent the fight from happening. The real messed up part is that Arum and Pacquiao are completely aware that they have a free pass with the media so there is no pressure on them to make the fight happen. If this were not the case the fight would have happened back 2010 when the terms were first being negotiated. Instead we got lawsuits, lies and false alibis. Holla!

most definitely a ****** bias going on in here and the site in general, only maybe 1 or 2 decent writers.

How can Pacquiao who beat the no. 2 or 3 ranked welterweight on the planet and a top p4p entrant not be included yet Floyd is, having spent the year fighting a guy who barely cracks the top 10 at 147 lol

Not to mention Ruoreng and Inoue and GGG...which of these guys beat a higher rated opponent than Bradley?
