Comments Thread For: Provodnikov, Postol Return Dates Are in The Works

BoxingScene.com recently spoke to Vadim Kornilov who's stable of fighters includes former junior welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov and WBC junior welterweight mandatory challenger Viktor Postol.

Provodnikov last fought in November when he dispatched faded former champion Jose Luis Castillo in 5 rounds in Moscow.

It's sad boxing politics changed Provodnikov from a thudding champion into a journeyman. They derailed his career, just because he can't speak English. He's still technically undefeated.

What does not speaking English have anything to do with anything?

It's pretty obvious his inability to be what the states are looking for is holding him back in this business of boxing. He is like GGG, the only difference being GGG doesn't leave the fights up to the corrupt judges he finishes them. Boxing would love to have had GGG lose a few fights so they don't have to invest (waste) money in (on) him. They end up losing money (the business of boxing) in the long run on these guys. They would prefer to push guys with more theatre presence like Adrien Broner who ain't worth a f***.

I'd pick Postol to handle Russell Robotnikov easier than Herrera, Bradley or Algieri ever did. They emerged from those wins with a smashed up face and bleeding eyes; Postol would be fine.
