I never thought he was good but if they hadnt fought us as fans would have lost out on a fight then but if both kept winning then itll be bigger and allow us to talk, debate, get excited. That was gone before it started.

Arum is an evil snake but smart. He knew donaire wouldn't win but was forced and instead of celebrating rigo he buried him for it. Same reason he kept chavez from martinez and yes pac from floyd. Im glad we got the fight cause i was excited for it but this particular fight could have marinated.

Thats how i feel about GGG and ward.

Now before ots brought, pac v floyd was ready in 09 but with pac becoming a major star he knew he could line his pockets big.

This is what i mean by saying there is not enough talent in this sport for the best to always fight the best. It ruins fighters before they peak.

Don't get me wrong I want to see the best v the best but I don't get all upset when it doesn't happen because I understand this is a business as well as a sport.

I do agree with the bold. I remember I was so upset with Blob Arum for that. They didn't think Rigo could make it 12 rounds with Nonito without getting KO'd. SMH!

If he didn't fight Rigo who would he fight? Darchinyan 3?

The cold war blocked fights with Mares and Santa Cruz. He probably would have made defenses against Kiko Martinez and Victor Terrazas which would have been Adonisish

But instead what we got was the truth. He was not exposed or a bum, like some people say. He was beaten by a better fighter and all the arguments got settled in the ring and came to a screeching halt.

But I ask myself what would his boxing status be if they never met. Boxing fans would be stuck wondering what if and all the Donaire groupies would have a free pass to talk about how great he is.
He was exposed. Rigo still haunts him til this day

Yeah I never quite understood the level of hate Donaire got, combination of being in Pac's shadow maybe and some people thinking he was overrated I guess. But the guy has fought solid opponents while moving up weight classes. Fought Rigondeaux who many fighters in Donaires position wouldn't have, took on a very talented Walters, got his ass beat no excuses. I know he's had excuses for subpar performances in the past, but who doesn't. Anyways, I always liked Donaire as a fighter.

I respect Donaire, Klitschko and even Chavez jr.

I have no respect for the likes of Mayweather.

honestly, donaire has done everything to gain the fans respect

he was also the first(that i know of) to do OST year round, by VADA no less

to this day, he pays for it, just to prove a point to the fans
