Somewhere along the line Donaire lost his motivation. Most like after the Rigo fight, he is somewhat like a Naz Hamed but continued however but never really quite performed to his full potential when he can.
Why was it so important for Rigo and Donaire to meet

The same reason why it's important Floyd fight Pac. So he can (in this case was) be placed into perspective.Comment

I'm glad these two guys fought each other, Rigondeaux kept pushing for the fight, and Donaire was game.
There is nothing better then two fighters being confident in their abilities wanting to prove it in the ring. Donaire took Rigondeaux lightly and didn't realize it till the first round.
I do give Nonito credit for fighting him and not ducking Rigondeaux and Walters. I do think that if Nonito wouldn't have fought Rigondeaux, he would have moved up anyways to 126, and he would have been matched against Walters.
That was the plan for Nonito to go up in weight all the way to 130. He wanted to win titles in different weight classes like Paquiao.Comment

Would you rather have went on believing Donaire was the best at 122 and have people arguing about it till this day?Comment
