Comments Thread For: Team Rigondeaux on Donaire's Return To 122-Pounds

Nonito Donaire once talked about fighting as high up the scale as the super lightweight (140 lb.) division, but has dramatically reversed course in his stellar career. The former four-division titlist has decided—following a shaky three-fight campaign at featherweight—to drop back down in weight and campaign in the 122 lb. division.

His plans were confirmed by manager Cameron Dunkin a few weeks ago to BoxingScene.com's Steve Kim.

That's what happens when you're a totally clean fighter who gets tested voluntarily often. You'd be unable to gain some muscle weight. The Donaire I saw the last few fights were pretty flabby possibly all that fat trying to make up weight for the higher divisions.

LMAO!! BOXING IS SO HILARIOUS, I SWEAR!! I thought Donaire couldn't make 122 anymore! It's going to be a damn shame if Donaire gets his title shots against the likes of Frampton and Santa Cruz before Rigo!

Donaire hasn't been the same after Rigo took him to school. How dare the article say the Rigo won a "close but clear unanimous decision"? Fight was nowhere close. Other than the knockdown Donaire was awarded with he lost every single round.

This is getting really sad for Rigo, he already schooled Nonito and its his only signature win, its the win he and his fanboys have been living off of, now they are willing to rematch him again? geez, get some new names on your resume dude right now you are not even on the top 100 greatest of all time, just having technical boxing ability alone doesn't mean jack **** I see a lot of those guys all the years I watched boxing, if that was the only rating for ranking a lot of guys with technical ability but losses would have been ATG's.

Try and get a Frampton fight man, Caribe and Hyde should be voted worst promoter and manager of a fighter.

Donaire will always have a punchers chance with Master Rigo. I would rather watch Donaire vs Frampton though.

Even though Rigo is smaller than Donaire I could honestly see him moving up in weight to 126 pounds and being more successful than Donaire was.

I like Rigo and recognize his skills, but Rigo might have a win over Nonito but Nonito ranks much higher than him. Rigo only has one signature win in Nonito, but Nonito has more accomplishments, beating Nonito doesn't mean you take his accomplishments and resume lol.

It doesnt transfer over boxing isnt that easy, thats like saying when Marquez knocked out Pacquiao that means Mayweather beat him. Its flawed logic.

Rigo needs to fight new guys, and the only ones holding him back are his wack promoter and manager.
