They never said that, they said that Floyd and Canelo are better options at the moment and said they are worth more money. Would Cotto vacate to avoid GGG, if it meant getting those other fights? Yes. However, I think he'd fight him if it was his last fight and he was going to go out on his shield. He gets stopped regardless, I doubt he goes 8 rounds.

While I agree, vacating the MW lienage won't help GGG become the lineal MW champion. The #2 MW according to both TBRB and the Ring is Peter Quillin. The #3 MW according to both TBRB and the Ring is Sergio Martinez. Both of those fights are as likely as GGG-Cotto or GGG-Canelo. Not likely.

MW is a very weak division. GGG should move up to SMW and challenge Andre Ward for the SMW lineage in 2015. Ward wants the fight.

Sir, you are deluded your boy doesn't make it passed the 3rd. Margs will come to mind when he gets decapitated in the ring. But in reality, cotto would only fight GGG if Canelo beats him which he probably will.

I'm looking forward to cotto getting battered gonna be a good year.
