It's about putting on quality cards and matchups. Not just having boxing on network television. Unless there's actual structure along with rankings and elimination bouts where the best take on the best, it will fail. Garcia/Salka type bouts aren't going to cut it.

You know this **** is bound to fail when Haymon has to pay NBC to be on TV. MLB/CBS/ESPN they pay the NFL and NBA to be on their stations. I'm just completely lost as to how he has to pay for NBC and the fighters. How does he make money? It'd be the network handling the advertising etc...

Well, whatever Haymon got kicked off HBO and is leaving the best position he could have been in running the show at Showtime.

it will be something along the lines of what you just saw Kathy duva do on nbc.

did you have a problem with those kind of fights on nbc?

Although I don't like Haymon I gotta give it to him, one heck of a businessman. He just keeps getting people to buy his crap.

Haymon needs viewers to get paid. The lower the ratings the lower the advertising dollars for uncle Al. Putting on Garcia-Shalka 2 isn't going to happen. Unless Haymon wants to lose money.

If it's on both, then it may work, but NBCsport is kinda of niche channel.

exactly. I'm looking forward to Haymon's shows. More "free" exposure on tv for boxing, the better...in theory. I don't expect Al Haymon to continue giving us the shyt sandwiches he fed us in 2014. Looking back and forward, it appears the soft touches in '14 were merely to protect the value of his fighters heading into this deal with NBC.

in any case, time will tell

Maybe you didn't read the article but Haymon is paying THEM (nbc) to showcase his fights. Even the greatest business minds cant wrap their heads around how Haymon expects to make money on this.

How does he expect to generate enough money to be able to pay the network along with his fighters who are use to big money for shiet fights?

Maybe hoping advertisers will pay enough for their time slots.... also I bet they'll sell the time in between rounds.... so there's that

You're not actually a fan of the sport of boxing. You are just a mindless troll who is a fan of violence. Actual fans of the sport will watch fights regardless of promoters or managers.
