Barry or Virgil Hunter would be good options for him

Give him to hunter to maximize the uses of his jab and long reach. The dude has superb stamina too.

Virgil Hunter is hands down the best choice, stylistically, Virgil will mold this guy into a superior boxer at 140 and he will be hard to beat. Virgil already was correcting Algieri flaws on under the lights pre show for Pac Algieri, so you know he will have Algieri utlilizing his long jab and reach.

I hope Algieri goes to Hunter if he goes to Virgil Hunter I will bet points with anyone that Algieri will not lose again unless he gets robbed on the cards, he will box circles around every opponent he faces even Danny Garcia.

Good news. I'd like to see him hook up with Virgil Hunter or Jeff Mayweather.

I still can't figure out why he decided to try and gun for the KO.

you've got a point. But I guess I would have been loyal to the trainer who got me there so it's a hard call. Also, transitioning trainers can take a couple of fights.

                  Still, a good move.

He shouldn't get butt hurt about that moment, it wasn't even his fault it was his trainer Tim Lane who made the comment and game plan. But he doesn't seem to like to laugh at that moment. He might pretend to laugh at it if he does a big media interview, but I bet he hears it all the time, and is tired of it. I remember on his twitter and instagram he had hundreds of people asking him about being in a cage must have got annoying to the point of being disrespectful. I would just block them out or use that as motivation to come back like a monster no wonder he is itching to get back in the ring right away.
I'm not concerned if he doesn't like hearing it. For the most part, boxing fans are put off by his smug superiority complex. As if HE was somehow gonna beat Manny. Somehow HIS team's 'genius' training methods and fight style would perplex Manny. If the guy was smart he would've kept his trap shut with all that hot air and been as humble as Joe Louis in the lead-up.

Smartest thing Chris can do for his career. He needs a trainer like Virgil Hunter or Floyd Sr, someone that can actually teach him to be that "master boxer" that he's always talking about not just yell it at him during training like Tim "Right where we need to be" Lane.
