How the hell do you know who is making an effort to make the fight happen? Simply because one side is doing all the talking and making a lot of claims doesn't mean that they are putting forth any effort.

In 2010, Bob Arum did a lot of talking when he staged his phony countdown clock for Mayweather to agree to terms. Mayweather's side didn't talk at all. A lot of people thought Arum was genuinely trying to make the fight. It was revealed later that Arum never spoke to anyone in the Mayweather camp and simply sent a one-page letter to the president of HBO stating what he wanted to make the fight.

Feeding bullsh.t to the media doesn't mean a damn thing. If you believe it does, to quote a great boxing philosopher, y"ou don't know sh..t about boxing."

I'll be glad when they're both gone, time to focus on the next generation of exciting fighters.

if floyd fights khant i believe he will score the knockout we have all been waiting for. he may have aged or matured but, like fine wine hes better.
as his career has progressed he has faced all the young hungry fighters obviously beating them plus more and after witnessing all this, people seem to think king khant has a chance...why?
danny garcia struggled to cope for three rnds then ****...the one he was swinging for landed. my question is, how long does anybody think it will be before floyd lands? he will/would be able to do this with stinging precision every time he ejects his arm from his shoulder. khant might throw quick combos but, how well does he cover up or counter? as good as floyd? its a no brainer. anybody giving khan a shot based on floyd not knocking anybody out or down since marquez/ortiz is a complete fool.
muhammad ali used the opponents balance and his own speed to get a fighter on the floor to good effect. look at the cleveland williams fight, a perfect example of what a non power shooting fighter (in his peak) could do with an opponents balance to get him on the floor.
marquez, look at the marquez fight. we all know jmm can take a shot and we also know that the shot fmj hit him with never hurt him. just look at the slo mo of this shot on you tube. fmjs right lead is a formidable weapon that he always uses to very good effect. watch the canelo fight...potshottin all night. khan still have a chance? nah.

Vargas is not plan b, he was told he was on the plan b list by arum when he called pacquiao out at a press conference while pacquiao and roach were laughing as if to say in your dreams kid. There are 5 or 6 much more likely candidates, some good some not so good yet all better than Vargas and they are as follows... Kell brook, Terance Crawford, Mikey Garcia, mike Alvarado if he beats Rios convincingly and ruslan provodnikov. None of them are signed to al haymon and the first 3 would be big fights while the last 2 would be ok fights but still better than Vargas. Vargas was never mentioned as a possible opponents by pacquiao or roach. Also he has never headlined of co headlined an HBO card which is a prerequisite to fight pacquiao. Think about it who has Manny fought that hasn't headlined or co headlined an HBO card? Nobody but those names I mentioned aren't managed by haymon and have. Why would the trend change? Even algieri was co headliner against provodnikov and he beat him.

Even if it does happen this year, it doesn't mean as much as 2010 when those two were at their peak. Now its just for the event and sales, the legacy aspect is gone, they are both shells of what they used to be. There's new blood in boxing, these two fools missed the train to cement their status.
