Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux's Trainer: We're Ready For Any 122 Champ

Trainer Jorge Rubio is very proud of Guillermo Rigondeaux's eleventh round stoppage of Hisashi Amagasa on December 31 in Osaka, Japan. He says the explosive performance, which saw Rigondeaux (15-0, 10KOs) get off the canvas to battle hard with the much bigger Amagasa, is a sign of future things to comes.

Rubio says the two-time Olympic gold medal winner continues to improve with every performance and promises more explosive action in the future.

There is only one champion of the division and its Rigo and he still acts like a challenger he wants everyone belt no belt giant fat skinny the wrath of Rigod does not discriminate.

I don't know if he could beat him, but I think Frampton gives Rigo a great fight.

Frampton has a mandatory against Avalos in February. Quigg is out injured. They'll probably fight each other in the summer.

Santa Cruz is too busy fighting janitors

What I'd give to see Rigondeaux vs Frampton, LSC vs Quigg, winners meet.

Annoying as **** having 4 top fighters in one division, levels above all the other competition yet they aren't fighting each other.

This pretty much sums it up.

Frampton vs Rigo is the best possible fight at the weight though. I have Frampton beating down Rigo.

                  Yep

If we got to see any one of those while Rigondeaux is still at 122 it would probably take an act of congress.

Heck I'd settle for Rigondeaux / Walters next year if Rigo can't get any play at 122.

The IBF belt will stay across the Pond.
The WBC belt is with LSG -- which means it's there to stay until LSG eventually moves up.
... Rigo will have to continue to fight in Japan.
