Most definitely. Hes a very fortunate world champion hiding out in Germany who has had a lot of gift decisions.
I felt Afolabi beat him and Arslan, Lebedev most certainly did.

I feel if he fought the best he'd be fringe top 10. He is the weakest champion at the weight IMO

Cruiser only gets any attention when someone clears it out and move up to heavy.

None of the top fighters are from the USA or the UK, and that's why it doesn't receive much attention. But the division is loaded with talent:

Usyk, Makabu, Mchunu, Kudryashov, Drozd, Lebedev, Huck, Hernandez, etc.

Could Kovalev have any success there?

I was thinking this myself. It most likely is the case.

It is dead. Plus the heavyweights are too fat for any cruiserweight to contend. The weight limit for heavyweight really screws any transition a Cruiserweight fighter can make going up. Majority of cruiserweights are stuck in a dead division. IMO

He could probably pick up a strap. Check out Kudryashov he is a Russian powerhouse who fights a lot like Kovalev.

16-0 all by K.O he is a top CW prospect
