Ray hearns in their peak ray fought hearns...and while hearns has the physical stature to simply cause any welterweight fits and he had arguable the hardest right hand in welterweight history..he could only box ray using his reach...he could not mix it up with ray as almost everytime they had a meaningbul exchange, leonard hurt him..round 6,7, 13, and finally the 14th....leoanrd took tommys best punch and walked right through it...ray switched styles to beat tommy and this fight was when they both were at their best...Ray on that one..

Hagler..Hagler was simply awesome destroyed all comers..but if you look closely he destroyed all comers that came to him and slugged..one dimensional...he could box somewhat, but could not deal with speed..antefirmo was a slick fighter..caused hagler some problems.,,duran in 83 was fast for what hagler was used to caused hagler major problems...and ray leoanrd 5 years removed, very rusty actually not rusty but a shell of himself. was able to make hagler miss, countered him etc..simpl because hagler is a counter fighter and a slugger,,,he has to set his feet like trinidad for a whole second then throw...leonard simply employed side to side movement and this frusterated hagler and cause him to lunge, lead, and miss, leonard then tied him up afther the lunge or after he got off, and this allowed ray to cntrol this fight, even though he had nothing after round 4...Now roll this back to 82 when leoanrd made a 29 yr old duran miss, and went toe to toe with hearns, and outboxed the counter punch king benitez,,,leoanrd in 82 destroyes hagler...why if you look at hagler in 83 vs duran he could not handle speed, and leoanrd was twice as fast as duran, and leonard would move like he did in duran two..but his counters would be easier because hagler was a slower bigger man...no ray might not hurt hagler,,,but ray in his prime was in shape, and had a great jaw..so we are talking about a `12 round mismatch unless hagler lands the ko punch,,and if we go off what they actually did in the ring..leoanrd never went down prior to 84 (retirment)....hmmmm ray on this one..

So ray beat all of them...duran beat him once, and hearns got a disputed draw when they were both well past their primes...ray moved up after 5 yrs beats hagler..hmmmm i think with out question ray leoanrd is the best of this bunch....
very good post!! karma for you!

        P4P Duran
SLR was extremely talented and was smarter than all of the mentioned.

Take weight class into consideration, Duran started at like 122.

Hagler easily. There has never been a more determined or driven champion that I can think of. If even 10% of the fighters today had Haglers heart alone the boxing world would be a much better place, not to mention his skill level.

I would have to say 'Sugar' Ray Leonard.Although it is
close all around.I think his pure boxing skills, heart,
and ring itelligence does it for me.

Wilfred Benitez was part of that great period as well. He beat Duran and gave Leonard and Hearns trouble too. Duran is my pick for P4P best. But his record against this group isn't great. if you score it like a round robin, Leonard had the best record

Yeah, Benitez was a nice mix in there although he was A caliber these others were A+, I would also say Duran P4P, I mean coming up in so much weight and beating a prime SRL, thats a feat within itself. Either way its undisputed that all these guys added to the alore of boxing and were great champs.

You know what would be great if we could talk about Hatton, Castillo, Cotto, PBF in the same manner in 10 years. Hopefully they'll do a sort of round robin like all these other great champs did.
