Mayweather will not win if he will gonna potshot and go on a shell against Pacquiao. He needs to be a combination counter puncher that will eat punches from Pacquiao to win. He needs to punch with Pacquiao when Pacquiao is doing his combinations a perfectly timed counter from Marquez happened because he already invested his face to get hit so he can counter Pacquiao who at the moment going for the kill.

You're forgetting Mayweather's length, he is an insanely rangy pure boxer. Pacquiao has to go through Mayweather's range to get to his range. Mayweather will however back up in straight lines, and that is where Pacquiao's only real chance is. He has to capitalize on that opportunity between when Mayweather starts backing up and when he hits the ropes. As soon as he hits the ropes Mayweather will immediately look to tie Pac up or circle out. Pac's activity might have been enough to pin Floyd on the ropes once upon a time, but he has always lacked the brute strength to just pin Floyd on the ropes. This fight will be such a letdown that it will turn people off of boxing big time.

If you are really a Marquez fan then you would know that the fight before Manny vs Floyd were being negotiated Floyd had signed a contract to fight Marquez at a CW of 144lbs. It was to try to compensate Marquez who had just moved up from 130 to 135. Not much of a compensation but that was the agreement. Floyd then came into the fight at the much more comfortable weight of 146. That is 2lbs more than contracted initially. So Manny just wanted to be sure that Floyd doesn't try that on them.

While I like both Manny and Marquez, for you to bring up Manny taking PEDs while we all know that Marquez hired an admitted PEDs expert cheat in MEMO is funny. Marquez's last fight he had acne all over his body as well. Quite rare for a 40 year old but quite common side effect for PED users.

Being rangy dont mean nothing to Pacquiao he is used of fighting taller bigger man. Pinning Floyd on the ropes is not Pacquiao's forte it's his speed, angle, stamina, combination punching.
