At least fighting in America, he'd be further from that gaze and if he pulled it off he's back in the picture.
You guys really think Groves loses to Anthony Dirrell? I think he's atleast a level above Dirrell. The earliest a Dirrell-Groves would take place is June/July. Anthony's voluntary is rumored for Feb/March. I think that's plenty of time for George to rest before he has to get ready for the fight. Many feel he rushed back too quick to fight Rebrasse and Doughlin was a fight that was put together at the last second shortly after Rebrasse.

There's good reason Dirrell's upset about George being his mandatory.

Furthermore, at this point DeGale does look the more dangerous and if Groves really is damage goods, I don't think he'd live with himself losing badly to DeGale. Maybe Hearn makes a double header at Wembley Dirrell/Groves and Dirrel/DeGale.

I don't rate Anthony Dirrell very highly at all but I think he could beat Groves right now.

Groves looked horrendous in his last two fights against a non-puncher and a junior middleweight. Anthony can punch a bit and he might well lay Groves out. Groves might win but it's a risky fight to take for not much money in America.

It depends what's more important to him....pride or money.

I'd favour Groves slightly. My opinion on Dirrell is that he's there for the taking but I'm concerned at George's showing after suffering back to back losses. I think it's a risk fighting Stateside on bad form but the opportunity's there so it has to be taken.

Hopefully like you say, the rest will do him good. I wouldn't risk putting him in with DeGale at this point, not on the back of their respective performances.

Why would the fight goto the US? Sauerland has the resources to win a purse bid and move the fight to the UK. I'm guessing a Groves/Dirrell title fight in the UK would do pretty decent money for the two.

George fought Rebrasse just over 3 months after his second devastating TKO to Froch. They rushed him back too quick, same with the Doughlin fight (which I'm guessing he took lightly anyway). Come June/July (knowing how Haymon likes to drag fighter's inactivity out - maybe Sept/Oct), George will be looking sharper.

It's slanted 75/25 in the champions favour. There's no way Haymon would allow Dirrell to go over to the UK.

Groves looks 1 big punch away from another KO at the moment, I think he could do with long rest, some time out to physically recover from a tough year.
