Degale has to KO Groves for assured victory, he gave him too much respect last time.

Ideal for me is that Froch gets his Chavez war and this fight happens for the vacant belt. I don't think Froch cares what anyone thinks of him now and his next fight is probably his last so let him have what he wants while two young guys who genuinely dislike each other get it on again over here.

I could see that if the title wasn't going to be vacant, but it will be vacated shortly by Froch, and they have two guys who just won eliminators being DeGale & Dirrell.

Is it me or did something happen in the recent Hearns-Haymon conversation regarding Anthony Dirrell vs George Groves? Dirrell doesn't seem to want that fight, George very much does, meanwhile DeGale has his own title shot sitting in front of him and Hearns has been shooting down the Groves-Dirrell fight the whole time.

Hearn doesn't promote Groves but he is absolutely desperate to make the Groves-DeGale rematch. With Khan perhaps not going to fight Brook, he needs a fight for Wembley in June and that's the one he's looking at.

Is Groves-DeGale currently big enough for that? It would seem both are favored over their respective Dirrell brother opponents and a unification fight between the two would be even bigger.

Personally I'm hoping Hearn is forced to hold on to that date and ends up filling it with Froch-Golovkin.

I don't think it is big enough but you never know with the hype they'll put behind it.

I think Groves would probably lose to Anthony and Hearn thinks that too, he wants to milk one more payday out of Groves. DeGale would also find it very tough against Andre - that's a 50/50 fight.

Hearn wants DeGale-Groves for the IBF which would mean Groves giving up his WBC shot and Andre being paid step aside money.

Froch-Golovkin would only probably happen in America and it won't happen until it's PPV in the US

It'd be wiser of Groves to go after Dirrell and the WBC belt then grant DeGale a rematch on the condition that he brings the IBF strap to the table. If he fights him now he has little bargaining power and an awful lot to lose.

Not so sure. He'd have to go to America and fight on an undercard for poor money in a fight that if he loses, his payday against DeGale vanishes.

And judging by his last two performances, he probably would lose. At least he'll get paid to get sparked out by Chunky

I know you don't like the kid but as British fight fans it's a little sad that he's at this point already. If I was Sauerland I'd take a punt on the Dirrell bout. To get stopped three times with the casual fans looking on and to DeGale at that. I really don't know where he'd go from there. At least fighting in America, he'd be further from that gaze and if he pulled it off he's back in the picture.
